Each person’s situation is unique. Our admissions team thoughtfully considers a resident’s care needs and personal circumstances to determine whether Hopewell House is the right fit. If you are unsure whether Hopewell House may be appropriate, we encourage you to contact our admissions team to talk through your situation.

Bedroom availability at Hopewell House changes frequently. While we are often able to admit residents on short notice, we encourage families and care providers to reach out as early as possible to discuss potential needs.

If a room is not immediately available, our team will do our best to help guide you through next steps and available options.

Hopewell House is not affiliated with any hospital or hospice organization. Hopewell House is an independent nonprofit.

Because we are independent, residents are able to receive care from the Medicare-certified hospice provider of their choice.

CARE & SUPPORT

What about hospice care?

All residents at Hopewell House receive visits from a Medicare-certified hospice provider of their choice. Hospice teams provide medical care, pain and symptom management, as well as emotional, spiritual, and family support.

Hospice clinicians visit residents regularly, typically for several hours each week, to provide specialized hospice services and guidance for residents and their loved ones.

At Hopewell House, our caregivers are present 24 hours a day, offering continuous support and comfort between hospice visits.

Medications are stored securely in a locked medication room. Trained and qualified staff administer medications to ensure residents receive them safely and as prescribed.

Residents who wish to self-administer their medications may do so following an additional screening to ensure it can be done safely.

The average length of stay at Hopewell House is about two weeks, though every situation is different. Some residents are with us for only a few days, while others stay for several weeks or months.

Residents may remain at Hopewell House as long as they continue to meet hospice eligibility and their care needs can be safely supported in our home. There is no predetermined maximum length of stay.

In certain situations, a resident may need to transition to another setting—for example, if their care needs change significantly or if they no longer require the level of support we provide. As a licensed residential care home, we also follow Oregon regulations regarding discharge in specific circumstances.
